Favorite Trail

The other day we hiked the Boy Scout Trail in the Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park. This is most definitely one of my two most favorite trails, the other being the Navajo-Peekabo trail in the Bryce Canyon National Park. On both trails you want to stop every few feet an take another picture, yet they are totally different. The Boy Scout is special for me also because it was where I experience some spiritual healing after my wife passed away.

The trail is almost all like this

Over the past couple of years I've taken quite a few pictures of this tree. It just captivates me.

This is the Boy Scout Tree. It's just off the main trail and most people miss it as it isn't marked on the main trail at all. It certainly is big. For me though hiking the trail is the experience. It's the journey, not the destination that makes this trail so great.

I have another blog yet to do about our last couple of day's adventures. That may take a while as this is the last day at this campground which has the great wi-fi connection. Tomorrow morning I'm heading south and Gary and Martha are heading north. I'm excited for our next great adventure together. I wonder what it will be.

Next week I'm in Yosemite. Should be fun since I've never been there. After that I'm not sure. Maybe Mesa Verde with Yellowstone on the way home. We'll see.

Since I have a Boy scout I think we need to make the trek there next summer and hike away. It looks beautiful!

So glad you're enjoying yourself. We love you!
