How about that for a creative title! OK, so I stole it from Buzz Lightyear. And it should really say to British Columbia, Alaska, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territory and Alberta. But, it works.
For several years now I've been planning on a summer long trip to Alaska. The past several trips that hasn't happened due to various family events. This is the year and I'm on my way. The original plan was to leave from the family's annual branding event in Montana. But as the time drew closer it became clear that wasn't going to work. So I left from Seattle. I'm now at the Porteau Campground on Howe Sound just north of Vancouver BC. I scored again with a campsite next to the beach with a wonderful view of the sound. It reminds me of all the years we spent our summers sailing in BC. I have to admit that I miss the boat at times like this, but then I remind myself that I wouldn't be starting out now on this great trip.

The highlight of going this direction for me was a chance to visit the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia, UBC. I really enjoy first nation art and this museum is world renown for it's collection.
Now this is some weird modern "First Nation" art done by the artist featured in the museum. I especially like the butt shot. There sure is a lot going on here.
The First Nation People used to have these huge potlatches until the Canadian Government shut them all down. These are some of the serving bowls. Notice the spoon. Several kids could easily ride inside these bowls.
One thing I discovered is that Vancouver, motorhomes and GPS don't mix! Vancouver is know for not being car friendly, much less motorhome friendly. Add GPS navigation to the equation and things get really interesting. Talk about nerve racking! I was driving down narrow streets, missing turns since you aren't allowed to turn left, and driving through the heart of downtown during the afternoon rush hour in a motorhome towing a trailer! When I got to the campground I had a glass of wine.
