The next day, I had to leave the Norris Campground, the NPS was closing it for the season. Most of the campgrounds, lodgings, and stores were being closed for the season. What a great time to be in Yellowstone!! The weather is wonderful, in the mid 70's during the day and mid 20's at night. Thank goodness my little motor home has a furnace. I feel sorry for the few families camping in tents.
In the morning I headed for the campground in Grant Village on Yellowstone Lake. Along the way to took a bicycle ride through some meadows back behind some of the geyser basins. Only passed a couple of other cyclist the entire way, a little over 10 miles. It was great!
Then onto Old Faithful. Not as crowded as I had expected. I guess most people left after the weekend. Of course I had to watch Old Faithful shoot off. It must be a requirement for everyone who visits Yellowstone. That, and visit Artist Point to see the falls, and stop along the road to see the bison.
And I had to take pictures.

I even came back later after settling in at the new campsite to see if Old Faithful would go off at sunset. I wanted to ride the motorcycle some anyway. I opted not to bring the big camera, but did bring the old point and shoot camera. Big Mistake! Although, that little camera still does a pretty good job even with the display only partly working. ( I just ordered a new little point and shoot camera by Sony to replace the one that broke just before the trip. That camera is amazing! Another modern technology marvel.)
