Where's Mark

I decided I needed to get to some warmer weather so I took off last week and started heading south. As luck would have it, the further south I went, the colder it got!! Lots of snow through Montana, most of which was on the ground. The roads were clear.

Just a little snow in Idaho until after Pocatello, then it started snowing. Woke up in Northern Utah to big wet flakes falling. It was that way all the way through Salt Lake City. Southern Utah was nice with sun, almost up to temperatures I left in Northern Idaho.

I'm now at Zion National Park. I've been here for several days. Mostly cloudy with some sun breaks, so I was able to do just about whatever I wanted. Yesterday I hiked the Emerald Ponds loop trail. The ponds were nothing spectacular but the scenery was awesome, especially since the water falls were flowing. Something that doesn't happen here much.

Today it was drizzling on and off most of the day. I was able to ride my bicycle up and down the valley. That is really a fun ride with so much to look at the entire way. There were a few cars on the road, the shuttle service isn't running, but hardly any traffic at all.

Tomorrow I was planning on going to the Grand Canyon National Park. The forecast for most of the way is for 3 to 5 inches of snow to fall tonight and then chance snow tomorrow. So..... I'm going to Lake Mead instead. The weather is suppose to be better there. I sure like being retired without a schedule to worry about.

Thanks to Cable Mountain Resort for the use of their internet service. I'm across the river from them in the national park campground. My high gain, very directional, wifi antenna is mounted on the rear ladder of the motor home pointed at them. It's working great.
