Finally, I've gotten into a little more sunny weather. Not exactly hot however. It is still fleece jacket temps with a little drizzle now and then. This is a real winter storm to the folks who live in the area.
This is the view from my campsite on Lake Mead. Not bad! Sometimes I just sit at the table and look out the window for a while. I even saw a sailboat last night. I wonder what that must be like, sailing in the desert. If its anything like sailing in Puget Sound when it's hot, I'll pass. When your on the water there is just no way to escape the heat. On second thought, I bet they just jump into the water to cool off. Something I wouldn't do in Puget Sound unless I had a full wet suit or better yet, a dry suit. I had an "ice cream headache" for 3 days once when I had to dive in to un-foul the propeller.
One thing I really like about Geocaching is that sometimes a cache can lead you to some of the most interesting, out of the way places. Today I hiked to such a cache. What a great hike! I went on this little used trail to a bluff that overlooks the Colorado River. It was WAY UP THERE!. I'm sure the Grand Canyon is better but this was really cool.
This is looking further down the river from the same point. It was drizzling some and windy. I bet it is even more special if the sun is out.
