Easter, Branding, Travels

Obviously, I haven't been updating to the Blog in the last few weeks. It hasn't been because nothing has been happening. One excuse is that I smashed my left hand little finger at branding. It difficult to type without it, at least for me. The other is that I've been traveling and have been just too busy or have had no access to the internet.

Following as a few of the things that have been going on. I'll try to elaborate further on each of these at a later date,,, maybe.

We had a great Easter, hosted by Jim and Donna. They did a great job. We had our traditional egg toss in the rain, making it even more entertaining. All my family was there. Somehow we didn't take a family photo.

Saray really got into looking for Easter Eggs this year.

Audrey hasn't quite figured it out yet.

Preparing for the annual Easter Egg Toss

My bother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Martha joined us this year for branding at a family member of my son-in-law's ranch in Montana. At branding, usually at the end of April, family members, friends and extended family (us) show up to help get this chore done. I wish I could say we all had a great time, but that was not the case this year. In the morning while bringing the cattle down from the fields, one of the family members was thrown from her horse, cracking her skull. She was air lifted to the regional medical center. I can report that she is doing very well. Branding though was much more business like as all were concerned for her well fare.

Martha can officially say she branded a calf

Gary, Martha and I left on a trip to visit the National Parks in Southern Utah. I'll try to blog more on that adventure later. (Easter, Branding, Camping adventures at Glenn Reservoir, Masacure Rocks, Antelope Island, Arches Nat'l Park, etc).

Glenn Reservoir. It was 20 degress out this night!!

Starting to relax at Masacure Rocks

We are now at Arches National Park at one of the best campsites ever. Anyway, here's a few pics:
Our campsite had a 180 degree plus view. More about that later.

That's it for now. I'm at the Moab Library and need to meet Gary and Martha. I'll blog on some of this things later.
