2021 Christmas/New Years Letter

I started this on New Years Eve so I can still call it a 2021 Christmas Letter.  There is quite a bit of snow outside so we won't be going anywhere.  The temperature has been in the teens for several days now although it may get above freezing, 35 degrees, for a day next week.

Here is a rundown of the Avakian Family

Here are the Goodes.  Michele is still an ICU nurse at the local hospital.  The Covid outbreak here in North Idaho has been extremely large to the point that conference rooms have been converted to ICU's  and military hospital staff brought in to assist.  So please keep her in your prayers.

Stan still is managing the local Forest Service Tanker base.  This hasn't been as bad a fire year as past years although he has gone to tanker bases in other states to help out.

If your ever in North Idaho, watch out for a blue Ford Escape.  Saray is 16 and driving.  Raif will be 12 in a couple of weeks and Celine just turned 9.  She transferred to the school where her Aunt Teresa teaches.

Eric and Julie moved into a townhouse in West Seattle.  They love it except for the long commutes due to the West Seattle Bridge being shut down.  They also are quite the gardeners with plants in the patio and on the decks.  Eric's Mom would be proud.

Christine and Clint purchased a new home in Kenmore last year and hosted Christmas with the whole family this year.  It was awesome having everyone together.  Everyone with the exception of Lincoln was vaccinated.  Along with running The Juniper Fund charity, she also has her own consulting company where she helps startup companies with their HR needs.  Clint is a mechanical engineer at Boeing.  Mila is in kindergarten and loves it, riding the school bus back and forth to school.  Lincoln is in preschool.

Teresa teaches 4th and 5th grades at one of the local grade schools.  The way that works is she teaches a group of kids in 4th grade and then follows them to be their 5th grade teacher.  John is a stay at home Dad to Caanann along with being the handyman fixing up their place and helping his folks.  Caanann is the most active little boy ever.  He doesn't slow down all day long.  I get tired just watching him.

As for Mona and I, we spent the winter and much of the spring in the Southwest to get away from the Covid denial crazyness in North Idaho.  It was the first time I was ever away from the kids during the holidays.  Not an easy time for me.  You can check out our travels down south on the blog:   http://knotaklu.blogspot.com/

We also spent a couple of weeks on "Scuppers", our sailboat in the San Juan Islands. Much of December was spent in Hawaii, not a fun trip as Mona had a family issue which needed her attention.  We did get a few days in to do some exploring and hiking.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and along with a wonderful 2022.
