October Happenings

Wow!  This has been quite the month for family happenings, and it isn't even the end of the month yet.  Of course, it all started off with Christine and Clint's wedding which was the previous blog.  Next up was Celine's 1st birthday.  She hadn't started walking then but last night she finally took off for many steps in a row.  It won't be long before she will be running after her brother and sister.

All the kids had to "help" their Mom with getting things ready for the big birthday celebration.

The tradition in our family has always been to get the most gooey chocolate cake for the 1st birthday and let the birthday girl have at it.   We started a little too late for Celine.  She just wanted to be held by her Mom and go to bed.  She was by far the cleanest 1st birthday kid we've ever had.  It was still fun.

Just got a text message from Mom.  We now have a walker!!

The next event was going to the pumpkin patch.  Saray needed a little help from Dad with the one she picked out.

Raif is looking for the perfect one.

The next big even was pumpkin carving.  This was one of the more interesting ones.

Then we celebrated my birthday.  Yes, I'm now 65, but feel like I'm still in my twenties.

Next was the trips I made to Montana.  This garden near the highway between Missoula and Kalispell.

Then we went and watched some of the round up happenings at the National Bison Range.  The bison were really not happy about being in these pens.  Several times it appeared like one would jump out!

I really like the fall when the colors come out.  This is by the 9 Pipes Lake near Ronan.

And finally, I really like bicycling the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park when it is closed to cars in the fall and spring.  I've bicycled it several times in the spring but this was the first time in the fall.  I was told I just missed by a couple of days when the trees were at their most glory, but it still was pretty spectacular.  I had the entire way to myself on the way up.  Here's some pics:

Tomorrow is Halloween and then I'm off to Hawaii for a few weeks.  I've never been and am really looking forward to the trip.   I'm finding it a bit of a challenge getting all the camera equipment there without incurring additional charges.  Expect blogs.
