Family Fall Things

I know. I've been a little bad about updating the blog but I've got a good excuse. We've been moving Michele and Stan into their new house and I've been moving back into mine. There has been time though for some fun family activities.

My grandkids sure have it made. I went to pick up them up from the family's ranch in Montana. Saray is helping herd some cattle down the shoot for pregnancy testing. She and her cousins are becoming quite the ranch hands.

Raif is just too cute!

The family is quite artistic when it comes to pumpkin carving. Mine's the normal looking one on the end. We never had pumpkins looking like these while I was growing up.

I love watching my family expand. The only drawback is that it sometimes is difficult for us all to be together for the holidays. So, we've started a new tradition, baking pies for the holidays before Thanksgiving. This year it was at Michele and Stan's new house.

Mom would have loved this! The girls bake the same pies as when they were growing up; apple, pumpkin and a chocolate chiffon for Uncle Jack, who passed away many years ago but he still get's his pie.

And the guy's get to help. Mainly by staying out of the kitchen.

Raif is helping John with his hand. John's family invited Eric and I to his parent's house for Thanksgiving. We had a great time getting to know them better. It was rewarding to see how close Teresa is to them. So there really isn't any drawbacks to expanding families.

Raif thinks it sure is nice having Auntie T living in the same town.

Being a kid in North Idaho can be pretty cool. You loose your front teeth, get to lick the bowl, have tattoos and drink beer!

Raif found a new use for Saray's purse.

Christine seems to have several wines named after her. This one is called "Middle Sister". Another is "Cupcakes". And like Christine, they are very good.

My new neighbor came to visit. It's unusual to see a young one by herself. I'm sure mama elk was nearby somewhere.
