Unfortunately Gail's Mom passed away June 27th. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and for me, mother-in-law. I can honestly say she was one of the best in all of these roles. Mom was 92. She really blossomed her last couple of years. I commented ofter to her how much she seemed to be enjoying herself. Now she is enjoying herself even more being united again with her first love, Eddie, and of course Gail.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Mom. She was a real sports fan, not so much for the Seahawks, but definitely for the Mariners. One of her last conversations was about how the Mariner's were doing.
Here's the family in 1966, Gary, Gail, Dad, Mom and Jim. I met Gail a year later in 1967, our freshman year at Seattle University.
Mom loved all her grand kids and our foster daughter Nga. I wonder where our son Eric was when we took this picture.
Mom and Gail had a special relationship. Somehow they always seemed to know when a phone call was needed. Mom lived only about 30 miles away from us but still I'd always cringe when opening the long distance phone bill. Most of the charges were from Gail and Mom's calls. There never seemed to be a short one.
