Family Fourth

The kids decided that they wanted to spend the 4th of July holiday here in Rose Lake which was great for me. All I had to do was provide the place. They pretty much did everything else. We all had quite a time, with some interesting activities along with our annual fireworks display.

Along with my kids and their significant others, Mark and Melissa also came over from Seattle. They are always fun to have here and since Melissa is a professional gourmet chef we can pretty much count on eating well.

Stan decided he needed a hair cut and Eric did the honors. Why a Mohawk? It seemed to catch on as Mark decided to get one too. Michele wasn't too pleased, but Melissa thought it looked good on Mark. It must be the artist in her.

These are the spectators watching the hair artistry.

Eric came over all excited to shoot his shotgun at some watermelons to see what happens. He heard they can really explode. So he and Stan had at it.

He as right, they really do explode. I think anything would with the size shells they were using.

While the boys and I went to the Res to get fireworks, the girls went to the beach. I of course had to include a picture of Saray.

Eric and Maureen took some "Redneck" pictures. I didn't show the good ones since Eric wants to send it to Maureen's parents. They just may come out and rescue her after they see them.

The girls relaxing around Saray's pool, which just blew off down the hill somewhere due to a thunder and lightning storm. The storm ripped the flag and flag pole off and it also proceeded down the hill.

I've been here a year, and haven't had much in the way of mosquitos until just when the kids arrived. I have this catcher thing that works on propane. It's been on for a month and I never had to empty it. I've been doing it every other day lately. Poor Michele, one of the pitfalls of being pregnant is you can't use bug repellant. I think she looks cute in her little outfit with a candle between her knees sitting by the fire.

Here we are at the Coeur d'Alene 4th of July parade.

And lastly, the Forest Service and Stan treated us to a Spokane Indians baseball game (Forsest Service Fire Prevention Night). It's been a long time since I've been to a minor league game. I forgot how fun they can be. I think the last one was in Tacoma. I'll have to make a Mariner's game when I'm in Seattle.
