So what is Clostridium Difficile (C. Diff) your wondering. Well, it means that I have been sick, really sick, for the past month with a bacterial infection in my gut. Turns out this infection can be, and in my case was, caused by taking an antibiotic. Strange but true!. You see, there's this little battle constantly going on in your gut between good bacteria and some bad bacteria. Usually the good wins out and we're all just fine and normal. But when I took a antibiotic for a sinus infection last month, the good bacteria got killed off, but not all of the bad. With nothing to stop the bad guys, they went nuts, raping and pillaging at will. The doctor told my daughter it is like the worst stomach flu you can imagine, except worse and lasting longer. I won't go into all the gory details.
I'm home now. I sleep, eat very mild food, sleep, eat, sleep and sleep some more. You get the idea. There is no energy for much else. It only took me three days to compose this.
Thank goodness I have good health insurance. The antibiotic I'm on now costs $1500, not the mention the ER visits and hospital bills.
I'm especially thankful for my kids, my angels of mercy, who took care of me during all this. Two coming from Seattle to help. I am so Blessed!!!
