This Paul Simon song, "Slip...Sliding...Away..." came to me as I was sliding down my driveway, going round and round, coming home tonight. The picture below was taken a few days ago. It was solid ice then and only has gotten worse after the recent snowfall and rain. As I was putting chains on part way up the hill, a friend of my neighbor came up the around the bend in his big 4 wheel drive truck. He didn't make it as far as I did before starting to slid backwards and sideways. My mind then switched from Paul Simon, to all those videos you see on TV of cars sliding out of control and bouncing off other cars. This time with my car as the target! It wasn't a happy thought. Fortunately he slid off into the ditch before hitting me.
Note to self: Put chains on at the bottom of the drive when it's ice!!! All wheel drive can only do so much.

So, that is a little drawback to living here in the wilds of North Idaho. But then I got this for a view from my front porch.
