In-Laws

The other day I heard someone say that “when you marry into a family, your not really sure what your getting yourself into”. That got me thinking just how lucky I am. My wife was a wonderful woman, an exceptional wife and mother. And as part of the package, I now have a mother-in-law and two brother-in-laws who also are beyond all description. They are “Family”. The word “family” is used so often these days that using it now doesn't seem to adequately describe my relationship with them and their families. I'm not very good at expressing myself so let's just say it is something very special.

Which leads me to today. If you've been reading my blogs, you know that my daughter, Michele, just had her second child. After the birth she has had some minor complications and is on bed rest. Her mother-in-law was at their house for over a week helping them out. And today, when I arrived, Her husband, Stan, was heading out of the house with their newborn son in a chest carrier and their 4 year old daughter to take the daughter to the neighborhood park so she could ride her scooter. It reminded me of that comment again, “when you marry into a family, your not really sure what your getting yourself into”. It seems to me that Michele, like myself, is one of the lucky ones.
