I lost big time! The engineers doing the work for Mr. Smith (see the previous blog) contacted him. His response was no way was he going to pay. As if that's a surprise. So how did the engineers respond. "We don't care who we screw in the process, we're going to get our money!!" OK, so they didn't say exactly that, but that's what it sounds like to me.
But I've also won, I've tentatively sold my house in Seattle in this economy. In the end, the additional $4k is a small price to pay. It stinks because it isn't my debt, but the house will be closer to closing.
